Review: Irresistible Me Hair Extensions

Recently, I went for my annual trip to the hairdressers. Having never had my hair professionally dyed, I decided to go through it... finally. Oh and I also lopped off a few centimetres of hair. Every few months/years, I bite the bullet and I go and get my hair cut ridiculously short. When I have long hair, it often looks flat and uneven.

Now I was approached to review hair extensions by the company, Irresistible Me. I've never in my life tried hair extensions before, so I was eager to test them out. Adriana, the lovely lady who contacted me, asked for the shade and weight of the extensions I wanted. Since I have dark brown hair, I chose 200g and 18 inches of the Silky Natural Black shade. The great thing about the hair extensions is that they come in 11 different shades, ranging from blonde to black. Just to clarify, the extensions are from the Silky Touch hair extension range. This range starts from the price point $79.00.

After placing my order, I waited a few days and received my package. To say I was excited was an understatement! Unfortunately, my lack of skill in applying these hair extensions deterred me from using them for a few days. I asked my wonderful cousin, Wendy to come over and help me with them. She started by separating my hair into layers, and placing the thickest and widest extension on the bottom. As we progressed through my hair, she began placing the second thickest hair extension above the one she already applied, and so on. Before I knew it. she was done!

My hair colour at the moment is a chocolate brown, and my hair is just below my shoulders. The hair extensions did look a bit misplaced and it was obvious that I had them in. Now, I put that down to myself having quite thick hair, and not having enough hair extensions to use. Have a look at the pictures below...

Just Bite Me

Oh, Revlon... you've done it again. Revlon seem to always hit the nail right on the head with their lip products. First, their balm stains, and now they have matte and lacquer balms. Elusive is a beautiful tender rosy pink that sits beautifully on the lips. I've found that these matte balms are quite nourishing on the lips, yet will eventually set to a true matte finish. I have quite a few of these matte balms, and Elusive is by far my most favourite one. It's perfect for everyday wear, and yet is also suitable for outings at night. They wear for about 4-5 hours on the lips. I found that as they wear off, it becomes quite patchy, and so I end up with the outline of the balm stain around my lips. It's such a handy lipstick because it's essentially like a pencil where you "colour" in your lips. If you're a lover of matte lips, then run out to Priceline/BigW/Target and pick them up now! Elusive is a must have for all you pink lipstick lovers. Check out the me wearing the lip colour down below.

April Favourites!

May is finally here, and we're slowly getting closer to the half way mark of 2014. A lot has been happening in April, more so to do with university work. I did however find time to try out some new makeup products. I have been obsessed with Urban Decay Deslick Setting Spray, which has been a staple in my makeup collection for awhile. For days when I have university, I apply a tinted moisturiser, blush and spray the setting spray, then rush out the door. It controls the oils on my face, and provides a luminosity to my makeup. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder is a rediscovery of mine this month. I brought it with me when I was travelling overseas, and didn't really use it. Now that I'm back, I thought I'd dig it back out, and have another go at it! It's just a really nice powder that goes on smoothly, and does not provide too much coverage. If you don't know already, I have been loving the NYX Butter Glosses. And you can read more about it here :). For the cheeks, my go to combo is Revlon Photoready Cream Blusher in Charmed, and a smidgen of the MUA Highlighter - perfect rosy and illuminated cheeks every time. I have been using Benefit Hoola Bronzer as an eyeshadow this month, weird I know. But it's the perfect crease colour that provides just the right amount of warmth to the lids. My eyelashes are very sparse, and so, lengthening mascaras are the only mascaras I pretty much use. Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof Mascara gives me the most lengthened and non-smudging eyelashes ever. I am seriously questioning Maybelline Australia as to why this isn't available in Australia yet? (I got mine in London).

What are your favourites for April? I'd love to know!

Till next time!
